The Division of Cardiology is one of the main treatment partners of University Heart Center Graz, a comprehensive care center for patients with cardiovascular disease. Our goal is to integrate personalized, one stop cardiac medicine that is tailored to the risk and psychosocial environment of our patients into their daily lives. In our research, we explore the mechanisms underlying heart disease and especially the important interface of metabolism and inflammation. At our clinical trial center, promising new therapeutic options are tested that will allow us to continue to fulfill our mission of offering heart patients the most suitable therapy. This lived symbiosis of innovative research and highly technical yet empathetic patient care makes up the core of our training of students and physicians.
